Kate wanted to be a fairy princess when she grew up. Since there were no such majors offered at the University of Arizona, she settled on anthropology and then went into writing. Her poetry has been featured on NPR by her hero, Garrison Keillor. Kate's professional experience ranges from non-profit fund development and event coordination to teaching young people and working in the arts. Kate is an instructor with the New York Writers Coalition, and she is presently working on a non-fiction book: The Hip Girl’s Guide to Homemaking. Recent hobbies include rolling large items down the streets of Brooklyn and mailing homemade bread to her grandmas.
